Privacy policy
Nimbo is a desktop sync client for your own Nextcloud server. It is built to keep your data yours — so this policy is short.
Who we are
Nimbo is made by Otherworld Dev Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England & Wales (no. 17175223), 4th Floor, 14 Museum Place, Cardiff CF10 3BH. For anything privacy-related, email contact@otherworld.dev.
Your files and credentials
Nimbo synchronises files between your computer and the Nextcloud server you configure. Your files and your sign-in credentials are handled locally on your device and sent only to your server. Credentials are stored securely on your machine (via the Windows credential store). We never receive, see, or store your files or credentials.
What Nimbo does not do
- No telemetry, analytics, or usage tracking
- No advertising and no third-party trackers
- No user profiles or accounts on our systems
- No selling or sharing of personal data — ever
Connections Nimbo makes
- Your Nextcloud server — to sync your files. What happens there is governed by that server's own operator and privacy terms.
- Update checks — the direct-download build periodically checks our release feed for a newer version. The Microsoft Store build does not do this — the Store handles updates. As with any download, an update check reveals your IP address to the host serving it.
Beyond these, Nimbo makes no other network connections.
Diagnostics and “Report a problem”
Nimbo keeps log files on your device to help you diagnose issues. Nothing is uploaded automatically. If you use “Report a problem”, or email us, you choose what to include; we use it only to help you and delete it once your issue is resolved.
Business licence keys
A business licence is a signed key that Nimbo verifies entirely offline on your device — there is no licence server and no phone-home. A key contains only your organisation's name and seat count, which you gave us when purchasing.
This website
nimbosync.com is a static site. Our host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and to keep the site running. We don't add cookies or analytics for tracking.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, or erase any personal data you've sent us (for example, a support email). Because Nimbo itself collects nothing, in practice this only concerns things you've chosen to send. Email contact@otherworld.dev and we'll help; you can also complain to the UK ICO.
Children
Nimbo is a productivity tool and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
